Are DHL the worst company in the world?

Filed under: Life — Sarah @ 7:23 pm

Yes.

The doors in our flat don’t slam and I’m annoyed beyond belief at the no doubt incompetent delivery person who is clearly scared of the rain and has no qualms about getting paid for a job he does not do.

Don’t worry mate, we can take days off work/uni until you feel ready to deliver parcels. It’s not like we have other things to do like you clearly do.

USELESS DHL

Edited for details.

The DHL depot “in” Edinburgh is actually not accesable unless you have a car.  For this reason, I thought I would take a day off Uni today to wait in until my package came.  An entire day off Uni.  I waited and tracked the parcel online, at 09.33 it was “Out for Delivery”.  At 17.31 apparently ” No One To Receive Card Left”.  Hm, now that’s strange, remember how I said I took the day off just for this parcel?  Yeah, they must have knocked really quietly.  I’ll go look for the card.  Oh dear, no card left.  Looks like the delivery person couldn’t find the place and decided to lie.

Nice.

Biggest Day Of My Life

Filed under: Life — Sarah @ 1:00 am

Currently, the building (Appleton Tower) that we have a few lectures and labs in is having major rennovation work done. This means that most lectures are punctuated by very work conducive drilling noises and the entire place is one big building site. This means there are supplies everywhere.
Today when leaving the labs late after working hard, I notcied something out of the corner of my eye. I quickly worked out what it was and realised that I could break a personal record with it. It was a very large roll of bubble wrap; twice my height (no short jokes) and twice my width (no fat jokes). I walked over to it and then…

I picked up the largest object I have ever lifted in my life.

Ground breaking stuff.

Elfs in the Ocean

Filed under: Life — Sarah @ 12:08 am

Firstly, here’s a picture of me on Halloween last Tuesday.  I’m like an elf or something, I just wanted to be able to wear a cloak and play with a bow and arrow.

Ok also, as you all know, Mcfly’s new album Motion In The Ocean came out today.  I’m slightly worried.

It really doesn’t sound that special yet.  I must admit I’ve only listened to it once but.  Hm.

There’s more than an undertone of Queen in every song in every vocal.  And the lyrics are wierd.  I’ve heard two different words for “bottom” already and I’m not even trying.

And who let a girl sing on that track?!  Oh my word, who is that?!  Oh right, that’s Dougie is it?

Man, where Wonderland sounded like an amazing Greatest Hits album this one sounds like a “Didn’t quite make it…” album.

I’m upset.  Maybe it’ll grow on me.

You don’t know your city well enough if…

Filed under: Life — Sarah @ 9:58 pm

…You can’t find sparklers anywhere at 9pm on November 5th.

I guess I’m not as independent as I thought I was. Forget living and surviving on my own, I still need parents to organise sparklers for me.

I’d have probably used them without gloves anyway.
