Harmony

Filed under: Life, Random — Sarah @ 11:36 am

I’m currently a little ill and so one of my ears is a little funny.

This has resulted in my gaining a super power. That super power is that in my right ear I hear things in a slightly higher pitch than I should. Music is actually transposed up a note or two. My left ear remains unsuperhuman however.
I had both earphones in listening to Barber’s Adagio for Strings and it sounded like a parade of fire engines.

My ears, like me, cannot harmonise properly.

The nano

Filed under: Life, Random — Sarah @ 5:00 pm

I promise this will probably potentially be the last time I mention the nano.

But it’s so snazzy.  I’ve never owned an iPod before and I love the Music Quiz game.  It’s super fun!  And quite challenging at times.

Although yesterday (on the train back from seeing Daddy in Glasgow) it played me “Penny And Me” and asked me if it was by the Klaxons.

Erm…. no, no it’s not.

P.S. It’s by Hanson by the way

P.P.S. Yes I have Hanson on my nano…

Dirty Words

Filed under: Life, Random — Sarah @ 11:03 pm

I went to a gig tonight.  It’s the first one I’ve been to in ages.  The first one I’ve paid for in ages too.  No more writing for the Student Newspaper for now.  Gigs are meant to be for fun, I don’t think I need anymore work than I already have.

It was The Departure I went to see by the way.  They were truly excellent.  I miss watching live music.  No matter how tired or not in the mood for it you are you will always come out feeling slightly elated and happier than before.  Music fixes things.

What was the last gig you saw?  What’s your next one?

I now own some suave business cards.  250.

I really need people to give them to.  Email me your address and you shall have one.

Saved By The Bald Bread

Filed under: Life, Random — Sarah @ 10:33 pm

Facts for all.

Hovis are now selling bread with “invisible” crusts. This is bakery blasphemy and the bread looks bald.

Also, Zack Morris speaks fluent Dutch. What? You absolutely must Wikipedia Saved By The Bell if you ever have a few hours to spare. Thanks to that simple task, I have now seen the brokeback mountain version of the show involving an undying love between Zack and Slater. Surprisingly, they didn’t have to chop up many scenes in a misleading way, the show just seemed to have an underlying air of gay to it. By underlying I mean they kiss (at that crazy fancy dress dance where they go as an Astronaut and “Gumbo” or something) and Slater gives Zack his heart.

And people worry the Internet is being put to bad use.
